Both Nipissing Lakers hockey teams have home ice advantage this weekend.

The women play York Friday  at 5pm with the men hosting McGill at 730.

The Nipissing men also entertain Concordia on Saturday night.

Both Nipissing basketball teams entertain Guelph Friday and Algoma on Saturday while the Lakers volleyball teams visit RMC on Saturday and Queen’s on Sunday.

In the NOJHL, Powassan is in Kirkland Lake Friday then on the road to play French River on Saturday.

Both Canadore volleyball teams are on the road this weekend. They visit Fleming on Saturday then Centennial on Sunday.

In men’s basketball, Canadore visits the Sault on Saturday.

A tough weekend for the North Bay & District Minor Bantam AAA Trappers in a three game set versus Nickel City.

The first place Sons won by scores of 4-3 and 5-2 and the other game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Meantime, the Minor Peewee AAA Trappers also played Nickel City three times.

The Sons won all three games by scores of 2-0, 6-1 and 6-2.
