The North Bay Battalion have a challenging road trip with games against the top two teams in the Eastern Conference, Peterborough tonight and Ottawa on Sunday.

Head coach Ryan Oulahen says they will be shorthanded with veterans Mason Primeau and Braden Henderson, who are out with injuries, but they will have Simon Rose (pictured above) back in the line-up.

He says the three game road trip, which also includes a stop in Kingston tomorrow, is a chance for some of the younger players to get more opportunities.

“Play with no pressure. Maybe, it’s a good thing for us to play against good teams on the road and play with nothing to lose and focus on the areas of our game we need to improve on,” he says.

The Troops have lost their last four games, but Oulahen says improvement in the team’s performance can be seen in several areas.

“Our goals for are up, our goals against are down, our powerplay and penalty kill have both been better. We’re tracking those numbers believe it or not and making sure we have improvements,” Oulahen says.

Broadcast time tonight from Peterborough is 6:55 pm.
