Callander Deputy Mayor Robb Noon has been appointed the new Mayor of the community.

Callander hasn’t had a mayor since the death of Hec Lavigne in January.

Noon told BayToday he’s honored by the appointment saying he and Lavigne both supported the council’s strategic plan.

He says he’s always been in support of boosting economic development and working hard to attract business to the community.

Noon told BayToday he would like to keep moving the downtown waterfront revitalization plan forward and to deal with the library project too.

He says council has to keep moving forward with Centennial Park and to continue tackling the infrastructure but at the same time being fiscally responsible.
