North Bay OPP are investigating after a serious two-vehicle crash on Alsace Road last night in Nipissing Township.

Police say one person in an east bound vehicle was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Three people in the westbound vehicle were not injured.

The collision happened around 6:30 Sunday evening.

 

A RIDE check on Cameron Road in Papineau-Cameron township Friday afternoon has resulted in North Bay OPP charging an eighth impaired driver of the year.

A 63 year old Papineau-Cameron Township resident was charged after a roadside test registered a fail.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and drivers’ license was subject to a 90-day suspension.

Meantime, a 66 year old Noelville man is facing an impaired driving count.

OPP say the charge was laid after a vehicle came by a roadside spot check on Saturday night in Noelville.

Meantime, a 36 year old Sudbury female has been charged with an impaired driving offense, driving a vehicle with no license and operating a vehicle without insurance.

Police say the charges were laid after police were called to a single vehicle roll over collision in French River on February 29th around 6 am.

Both accused were issued 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspensions (ADLS), and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

OPP say a 19 year old male from Newfoundland has been charged with driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

Police say they noticed a vehicle swerving and travelling below the posted speed limit on Highway 64 in West Nipisisng on February 29th.

Police say a traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with the driver, officers concluded the individual was under the influence of a drug and conducted a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) which resulted in a fail.
