Next month is ‘BeADonor’ month in Ontario and the Trillium Gift of Life Network is looking to local residents to consider registering to become a lifesaving organ donor.

Officials says there are currently 1,600 Ontarians on the organ transplant wait list.

That includes four in North Bay.

They point out there are simply not enough organs to meet the need, with someone dying every three days while waiting.

To the end of December 2019, North Bay has the highest registration rate, at 58 percent, out of 170 communities in Ontario.
