As of 5 p.m. today all City-operated arenas, including the Memorial Gardens, West Ferris and Pete Palangio facilities, will close.

North Bay Transit will begin operating according to its summer schedule as of Tuesday morning.

This adjustment is being made based on demand in light of the suspension of classes at schools and our local post-secondary institutions.

All routes will continue to operate.

The City encourages the use of online and telephone services.

Residents visiting City Hall and other municipal facilities that remain open are asked to follow the recommendations of public health officials regarding social distancing, safe handwashing and hygiene.

Effective tonight at 8:00 p.m. visitors to the North Bay Regional Health Centre will no longer be permitted access unless under exceptional circumstances as approved by the manage of the respective department or unit.

Any visitors that need to be here under exceptional circumstances must be 18 years or older and pass the screening at our Emergency Department entrance.

Visitors could be turned away at the unit level if they do not meet the criteria for exceptional circumstances.

Patients attending our Emergency Department may bring a maximum of one adult support person.

NBRHC has no positive cases of COVID-19 at our hospital.

An update involving the North Bay YMCA. All services are closed as of noon today (Mon, March 16th) including the Health, Fitness & Aquatics Centres. On the weekend, the YMCA cancelled all land-based programming like group fitness classes, gymnastics and youth programming along with swimming classes. They also announced all of their child care centre are closed and March Break camps are cancelled.

The Capitol Centre has announced that to protect the health of their patrons, all shows and events scheduled until April 30th will be postponed or cancelled. Pre-sold tickets remain valid for new show dates. Box Office staff will contact all ticket holders of shows affected.

As a precaution, the North Bay Museum will be closed until at least April 5th, as part of the effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Staff will be available to answer inquiries by phone or email.

The North Bay Granite Curling Club say they are closed for the season. This includes their facilities, programs, leagues and events.

The Community and Recreation Centre and the Sturgeon River House Museum will be closed to the public until April 6. This includes all municipal arenas, pool and the fitness centres.

West Nipissing is taking additional measures to reduce the risk of exposure of COVID-19.

Please be advised that tax due dates have been postponed to April 24 and May 22, 2020, to reduce non-essential visits to the Municipal Office.

No penalties will be applied.

Note that no change will apply to residents that are registered for preauthorized payments.

Les Compagnons has announced that all activities and rentals are cancelled, with the building closed from today (Mon, March 16th) until April 5th. Updates will be announced on their Facebook page.

North Bay Battalion headquarters has been closed to the public.

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board is taking several measures in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Only essential core services will continue including the issuing of social assistance payments.

Payments will not be disrupted but recipients are encouraged to set up direct bank deposit if they haven’t already done so.

Please call the DNSSAB office if you require assistance.
All inquiries and applications are encouraged to be made by phone.
Social Housing properties will continue to be maintained and health and safety issues will be addressed.
Services that will NOT be available for the time-being include Most child care centres have been temporarily closed and all EarlyOn programs are temporarily closed, Face to face meetings will not be held. The Career Hub located at City Hall will be closed and All in-person workshops and training will be postponed.
