West Nipissing OPP have laid multiple charges in relation to domestic violence incidents between January 2016 and May of last year in Sudbury and West Nipissing.

A 37 year old of no fixed address has been charged with several counts of spousal assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats and single counts of mischief,break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault and forcible confinement.

The Special Investigations Unit has ruled there are no reasonable grounds to believe that a North Bay Police officer committed a criminal offense in an incident on Main Street last August.

A 59 year old sustained serious injuries including a fractured hip in the incident. The arrest made by police at Main and John Streets was in relation to a break-in.

North Bay OPP say someone broke into the Merrick Landfill earlier this week.

Police say $6,000 in property was stolen from an office including a laptop, bear spray, a bug jacket, hand held radios and a multigas detector.

Meantime, OPP are looking into a break and enter that happened Thursday night on Papineau Road in Papineau-Cameron Township.

Police say tools were among several items stolen form a shed.
The suspect is believed to have been driving a yellow All Terrain Vehicle with racks on the front and back and a large red basket or tub on the front.
