The annual ReCycle Bikes Program put on by Discovery Routes is returning this year but the bikes are for low income essential workers.

Organizers are putting in new safeguards in place including a controlled curbside pick-up and delivery and only adult bikes that just need a minor tune-up will be accepted this year.

For anyone with a child’s bike or one that requires a little extra repair or parts is asked to hold onto it until such time as the organization is able to accept it. The website will be updated on that.

As well, only bikes from a North Bay address are being accepted.

For complete information on the checklist go to http://discoveryroutes.ca/recycle-bikes or contact Discovery Routes at cycle@discoveryroutes.ca.

Cash donations are also accepted to support the ReCycle Bikes Program and can be made through the website.

Charitable receipts will be issued in the amount of $25 for bicycle donations and for cash donations of $15 or greater.
