Good news from Cassellholme.

They’re reporting a second swab taken after a positive case of COVID-19 on Sunday has come back negative.

CEO Jamie Lowery posted on social media that they’re awaiting direction from the Health Unit over the home’s status with the declared outbreak.

An outbreak is declared with a single lab confirmed case in a resident or staff member at a long term care home.

Meantime, the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s Outreach Team visited two long-term care homes in the community this week to test both residents and staff. 668 swabs were collected.

The testing continues with more scheduled for Friday at Water’s Edge and Tuesday at Eastholme.
