The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says it’s received confirmation from the Ontario Public Health Lab that the positive COVID-19 test result at Cassellholme was a true positive.

It adds the patient has received two negative tests and so the case has been resolved.

However, Cassellholme is still in an outbreak situation as per the Ministry of Health guidelines which state an outbreak can only be declared over once 14-days passes without a positive case of COVID-19.

The Health Unit continues to facilitate testing of all residents and staff in long-term care homes as per the province and is on track to complete testing prior to the provincial deadline of this Friday.

16 of the 19 cases have been resolved with three cases isolating.
