The North Bay Society of Architects is once again offering scholarship opportunities this year.

After the success of last year’s scholarship competition, the society has renewed the program.

They’re offering 15-hundred dollars in scholarship funding for local prospective architecture students.

$1,000 will go to students pursuing a university degree and $500 for students pursuing a college diploma in an architectural field.

The secretary of the NBSA is Jeff De Decker. He says there are several colleges and universities in the province that have architecture programs but the scholarships aren’t limited to those schools.

“It’s applicable to anyone pursuing studies so it doesn’t need to be in the province but in any Canadian post secondary institution,” De Decker says.

He says architecture is offered in variety of programs nationwide.

“From architectural technology to architectural sciences. In the college stream it’s even open to interior design as part of this college initiative,” he says.
All of the details and forms can be found at nbsa.ca. The deadline to apply is noon on June 1st.

This program is exclusive to students from North Bay and the surrounding areas, and specifically structured to support university and college bound students in our region.
