A 25 year old Brantford resident is facing several charges — including two counts of theft of a motor vehicle — after a single vehicle collision earlier this month in South River.

Almaguin OPP were called after a vehicle was driven through a back yard and into a ditch of an Ottawa Avenue residence on June 6th.

The driver fled the scene.

The investigation revealed the crashed vehicle was stolen earlier that day from South River, with a second vehicle taken after the collision.

An arrest was made the next day.

A 32 year old West Nipissing person has been charged with three counts of spousal assault, uttering threats causing death and forcible confinement.

Nipissing West OPP say the charges were laid last week in relation to incidents in Sturgeon Falls between February of last year and this month.

A 16 year old West Nipissing youth has been charged with break and enter, theft and mischief.

Police say the charges were laid after a convenience store incident last Friday morning on Highway 64 in Lavigne.

Police say two liquor bottles were stolen and video surveillance was used in identifying the person responsible.

A 62 year old West Nipissing man has been charged with assault.

Police say the charge was laid following a dispute between neighbours in River Valley last Friday afternoon.
