The city’s new community and rec centre, which will be built at the Omischl Complex in West Ferris, is the focus of a special committee meeting of council tonight.

Officials say the presentation will include design renderings, a schedule update, current cost estimates and more.

Tonight’s virtual meeting starts at 5:30 pm on the city’s YouTube channel.

Conceptual designs (pictured) were unveiled at an open house in January.

Included were two rinks, a community wing, a social gathering spot and a walking track.

The cost at that time was being pegged at between $29-31 million with a 5-10 % construction contingency.
