An update on a fire in Mattawa in mid-May that police say resulted in one person suffering life-altering injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police say a 25 year old resident of the town has been charged with mischief endangering life and drug production.

OPP, the Mattawa Fire Department and the Office of the Fire Marshal all investigated the fire at a multi-family structure on Mattawan Street.

North Bay OPP report a 36 year old Bonfield resident has been charged after a vehicle was stopped for a licence plate violation last week in Mattawa.

The driver was found to be suspended (Highway Traffic Act) since 2004 and a prohibited driver (Criminal Code) since 2006.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days and the person has a September court appearance.

 

OPP in Nipissing West report a 20 year old Sturgeon Falls resident is facing charges of uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

This after police were called to a report of a threatening incident on Front Street in the evening of June 21st.

Police say investigation revealed the accused had threatened the victim with a weapon and subsequently left the scene.

Shortly thereafter, officers located and arrested the accused.

The weapon was recovered and seized.
