The province’s re-opening plan takes effect today and the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit will be mandating face coverings next Friday in certain enclosed public spaces and North Bay Transit.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Chirico says using face coverings is not meant to replace physical distancing, hand washing and isolating yourself when you have symptoms or have come in close contact with someone with COVID-19 but in addition.

24 regions are moving into stage 3 today including our area while 10 others including Toronto and Peel Region will remain in Stage 2.

The city says outdoor playground and exercise equipment will be available for use.

Equipment is not sanitized and parents/guardians are reminded that children’s hands should be washed or sanitize before and after use.

Stage 3 will see restaurants, gyms, and casinos allowed to reopen, with limits on how many people can be inside at a time.
Indoor gathering limits will increase to a maximum of 50 people, while outdoor gathering limits will increase to a maximum of 100 people.
The province says it will still require people to practice physical distancing with anyone who is not in their 10-person “social circle.
