You’ll be able to check out the Callander Bay Heritage Museum and Alex Dufresne Gallery in person again starting tomorrow.

They’re reopening with guidelines to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and volunteers.

Hand sanitizer will be available and surfaces will be cleaned regularly. Interactive exhibits and the upstairs exhibits will not be available at this time.

Limits on the number of people allowed in at one time will be 10 for the museum and 12 for the art gallery.

Masks will be mandatory, with debit and credit the preferred method of payment.

The Callander Museum is located in the old homestead of Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe, world-famous physician to the Dionne Quintuplets.

Officials say exhibits in the museum include a turn-of-the-century authentic barber shop, two exhibit rooms dedicated to the miraculous birth of the Dionne Quintuplets, as well as exhibits on Amelia Earhart and her connection to Callander, the nautical history of Lake Nipissing, Callander’s role in the First World War, and the geological history of the area.

They also say the Alex Dufresne Gallery does not have an active art show at this time but will be opening a local photography show in the near future.

Their new hours of operation are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 – 5:00 pm.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are by appointment only by phone or email.
