A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the North Bay area.

That’s on top of the heat warning.

Environment Canada says conditions will become favourable for severe thunderstorms to develop this afternoon into this evening.

They say the main threats are strong damaging winds up to 100 km/h and torrential downpours.

As for the heat warning, hot and humid conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow.

A slightly cooler airmass is expected to arrive in the area late Tuesday.
