The Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture says they will follow the advice of the health experts in more sports and leagues returning to play.

Lisa MacLeod was in North Bay this week .

“We’re continually monitoring the situation. Now that we’re in stage three we are going to be able to continually assess the success rate of containing COVID-19,” she says.

She says she gets it as she’s a hockey mom and she understands the impact sport has in our daily lives but health will remain the top priority of the government.

“We support over 60 provincial sport organizations. We’re are working with them as a group and individually on return to play protocols,” MacLeod says.

She says sport brings in $12.5 billion a year.
