Finances are the focus for a couple of items coming up at tonight’s virtual Council meeting.

With COVID-19 having an impact, a councillor motion is looking for a year end financial projection as of September 30th.

This as Council gets ready for budget season.

To that end a report coming to council tonight details the budget schedule, starting in late October.

The plan is to have the operating and capital budgets approved on December 8th.

There won’t be any in person public open house sessions this year because of COVID-19, but suggestions can be emailed to 2021Budget@cityofnorthbay.ca from September 1st to November 6th.

A couple of public presentations will start off tonight’s meeting.

One is from Tourism North Bay on the first year of the Municipal Accommodations Tax.

It garnered about $982,000 in revenues in 2019, with nearly $360,000 going to the city.

The second presentation is from Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay.
