The Ontario government is providing up to $8.67 million to expand natural gas services in North Bay.

The province says construction is underway by Enbridge on a new 27 kilometre natural gas pipeline that will bring more reliable and affordable energy to the Northshore and Peninsula Roads.

The project will see 134 homes and businesses receive natural gas.

Officials point home owners will see a 46 % savings on their heating bills while the savings for businesses add up to 30 %.
