A popular fundraising treat will be back at Tim Hortons starting tomorrow.

This year Nipissing Serenity Hospice is benefiting from the Smile Cookie campaign.

Executive Director Gil Pharand says the campaign runs from tomorrow, September 14th through Saturday, September 20th.

“Go to any of the local Tim Hortons and order your Smile Cookies, they’re a dollar each, and 100 percent of the proceeds come back to the hospice. It’s very generous on the part of Tim Horton’s, they do this nationwide,” he says.

Tim Hortons 2019 Smile Cookie campaign raised a record $9.8M in just one week for 550 charities, hospitals and community groups across Canada.

Pharand says they’re excited to be involved this year.

“These funds will help us continue our programs and services. Although part of the hospice is funded by the government, the other part isn’t so we have operational expenses that need to be covered,” he says.

The first Smile Cookie was sold in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital.
