Delays are being reported on some area school bus routes.

Student Transportation officials say there are three reasons.

They include new COVID-related loading procedures, construction in various parts of the city and area, and driver shortages.

Those shortages have resulted in some buses making a second run after completing their first.

Officials also say the full impact won’t be known until Friday when the staggered start process wraps up.

They say delays of 15 minutes or more will posted on their website and encourage parents and caregivers to check there instead of contacting the operator or Student Transportation, so they can work as quickly through the issues as possible.
