Just over $43,000 was raised yesterday in the annual CIBC Run For The Cure in North Bay.

It was held virtually due to COVID-19.

The funds raised support breast cancer research.

According to the national web site, 149 people took part in the North Bay event and they walked or ran for 229 Kilometres.

The Ontario Northland Trailblazers team raised $17,000 and that was the most of any team.

President Corina Moore raised $12,600 on her own and she was the largest single fundraiser.

Nationally, over $8.5 million was raised in the fight against breast cancer research.
