The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says they will start work this month on a new pedestrian bridge.

45 metres of Chippewa Creek at Oak Street will be worked on and the Kinsmen Trail Link will be re-established.

CSL Group Ltd. Construction is expected to begin the $760,000 project in the next few weeks and the work should be done by late summer next year.

Pedestrians will be redirected to Main St. until construction is completed.

Chair of the the NBMCA board Dave Mendicino says erosion will be repaired, the project will help alleviate flood hazards and be great for the city’s transportation network too.
