The North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit says there is one active case of COVID-19 in their coverage area and is located in Nipissing District.

It involves someone aged 20-39.

A previous case reported originally as being in the Parry Sound District has now been resolved.

The new case is self isolating and brings the number of cases to 42 with 40 resolved and one death.

Health unit stats say the case was acquired through community transmission.

The health unit has issued a potential public exposure to COVID-19 amongst patrons who were at Highball Billiards & Bar on Second Ave. W., in North Bay from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. between last Thursday and Sunday.

Local contact tracing is underway by the Health Unit.

Contact information for patrons of the establishment is not available.

Patrons at the establishment during this time are considered low risk, as per the Ministry of Health guidelines.

These individuals are recommended to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, until October 25th and contact the local assessment centre for testing, should symptoms develop.
Restaurants and bars are reminded that they are required to keep a log of patron name and contact information for case/contact management purposes.
