The $3.5 million rehabilitation project on Trout Lake Road continues to move forward.

Chair of Operations and Infrastructure Councillor Chris Mayne says this past week, city council took a major step by approving a contract to Tatham Engineering.

“This is the design phase. It will see road re-surfacing on both sides of Highway 63 from Mountainview Drive to Lees Road,” he says.

The cost of that is $150,000. Overall, the province is putting in $3 million and the city the rest.

There will also be work address major icing issues that develop due to poor drainage.

Construction will start late next year or early in 2022.
