The next NDP candidate in Nipissing will be officially named tomorrow.

An online nomination meeting is being held where Erika Lougheed, who works at Nipissing University and is a municipal councillor in East Ferris, will be acclaimed.

“I am excited to join Andrea Horwath’s team, and to stand up together for the people of Nipissing. A New Democratic government will put our priorities first, from investing in public health care, long-term care, and schools, to creating more homes people can afford in our region, and creating more good jobs here – the kind of jobs you can raise a family on,” said Lougheed.

France Gélinas, long-standing MPP for Nickel Belt and NDP Health critic, will join the nomination meeting.

“Northern New Democrats need Erika on our team,” said Gélinas. “Together we will ensure that Northern Ontario finally gets the services and investments we need.”
