Shovel snow winter Winter is expected to start off a bit milder than usual, but that will change once we turn the calendar to 2016.

The Weather Network’s winter forecast has been released for the North Bay area.

Meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg says we’re seeing an El Nino pattern to start things off this month with temperatures a bit milder than the norm. But, that’ll change in the new year.

Meantime, it may be too soon for the groundhogs to be checking for shadows, but The Weather Network’s March preview is also in.

Sonnenburg says the beginning of March is looking to trend more winter-like, but also says spring is likely to show up on time or even a little bit before that.
