A major fundraiser for Special Olympics Athletes is about to make a splash in Lake Nipissing.
The 2018 Polar Plunge goes Saturday with people jumping into the ice-cold water at the North Bay Waterfront.
Registration goes Friday night at The Grande from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Onsite registration is Saturday from noon to 1 pm with the plunge from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.
The fundraising goal this year is $20,000.
That’s how much 75 plungers raised at last year’s event.
In the past three years the event has raised $92,000.
