Rotary4Kids is benefiting once again from Kevin’s Longest Morning on KiSS 100.5.

The 16th annual event involves morning show host Kevin Oschefski broadcasting live for 29 hour straight next Wednesday morning, March 28th, through 10am the next day.

Oschefski says he does it every year because the kids are awesome and they live right in the community.

“When you meet these kids and their moms and dads and see how much impact these programs and this equipment has on their lives, I think the better question is how could you not?” he says.

Every dollar raised stays in our district to support children with special needs and their families.

NADY President Jim Stewart says it’s all about helping kids, including this year’s ambassador nine year old St Francis student Jaylyne Thompson who has dreams of her own.

“She wants to go to college, go to university, get married, have some kids and she just wants to make the world a better place. Right now our part in that is we’re helping them get that, we’re not closing any doors, we’re opening doors,” he says.

Stewart says their goal is to beat last year’s total.

Over $74,000 was raised by the time they signed off the air.

In terms of this year’s event, there’s a pancake breakfast at Fricker the first morning with the radio-a-thon then moving to Northgate.

The wrap-up goes at Burger World on Algonquin from 7am to 10am on Thursday March 29th.
