It’s being called a major winter storm and Environment Canada says it appears to be heading our way.

A winter storm warning is in effect for the North Bay area with 15 to 30 cm of snow possible.

The forecast is calling for scattered flurries this afternoon with snow tonight and tomorrow.

Strong winds will also cause blowing snow.

The agency does say some uncertainty remains about the exact track of the low pressure system, which could impact the amount of snow that falls.

Meantime, a YouTube weather sensation is once again warning local residents to be prepared for a major blast of winter.

Sydney, Nova Scotia’s Frankie MacDonald took to his YouTube channel this morning to discuss the winter storm warning.

MacDonald, who has 170,000 subsribers and nearly 31-million views, last warned city residents to prepare for a winter storm back in mid-November.
