If you have concerns about Hydro One, the utility’s Ombudsman wants to hear about them.

A couple of town hall sessions are being held today (Wednesday) in Mattawa and Callander.

Fiona Crean is doing outreach across Ontario and says the prevailing theme so far has been with high bills.

Other issues include smart meters, clearing vegetation and difficulty understanding bills.

She reports back to the board, but also looks to solve individual complaints on a one on one basis.  “The big interest is seeing where I can do any systems reviews to get at any underlying problems or causes to help the company improve services.”

Meantime, she says a couple of issues, including electricity rates and broadening ownership of the company, do not fall under her jurisdiction.

The first town hall goes at 2 pm at Mattawa Legion Branch 254. The second event takes place at 6 pm at Callander Legion Branch 445.
