North Bay OPP have released the results of its Canada Road Safety Week Campaign.

There were 175 speeding charges, 3 street racing counts, 3 seatbelt charges, 2 distracted driving counts and 2 warning range suspensions.

This year Canada Road Safety Week focused on lack of seatbelt use and impaired, aggressive and inattentive driving.

A 22 year old North Bay man has been charged after West Parry Sound OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver in Parry Sound last Thursday.

He’s been charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mg. of alcohol in the blood.

Meantime, a 58 year old Powassan man has been charged with driving while impaired.

Police say they received a report of an impaired driver leaving a local establishment in North Bay.

The vehicle was located on Chiswick Line in Powassan and officers detected the odour of alcohol.

The motorist had his licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7.
