The Nipissing Lakers Men’s hockey team has added a forward to their roster for next season.

Zach Moody (pictured above) played 4 years in the QMJHL with Quebec and Cape Breton and was part of a championship team in 2015.

Last year, Moody played for the Truro squad in the Maritime Junior loop.

He notched 59 points in 49 games as the Bear Cats won the league title.

Head coach Mike McParland believes someone with that much experience will be able to help his team and he’s hoping Moody can bring a winning attitude to his program as well.
“We are excited to add a player with over 240 games of major junior experience. We are looking forward to Zach giving us a shot in the arm offensively. We are looking to improve in that area,” McParland said.
The Lakers have also signed defenseman Trevor Busch who played last year with the Campbellton Tigers of the Maritime Junior League. He also previously played with Drummondville of the Q.

“Trevor is a D-man coming to us via Saskatchewan and the Maritimes. We welcome Trevor’s size and look forward to him competing to be a member of our defensive core in the upcoming year,” McParland said.

Head coach Tony D’Agostino describes Cassis as a versatile player who can fill a number of roles.

D’Agostino is excited about the addition of Cassis, as it’s someone the program has had their eyes on for a while.
“I am absolutely delighted to announce the commitment of Liam,” he said. “Liam is a player we have pursued for quite some time.”
D’Agostino believes Cassis can fit in with the program and will give the lineup some versatility.
