A five goal outburst in the second period leads the Troops to a 7-3 win over the visiting Barrie Colts on Sunday afternoon. It gives North Bay back to back wins for the first time in a month, and marks the first time the Troops score more than five goals in a game.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says they executed “Battalion Hockey” in that second period.

Captain Mike Amadio had a six point night with two goals and four assists. Other goals came from Mark Shoemaker, Matt Santos, Miles Liberati Danill Vertiy and Zach Shankar who got his first career OHL goal.

Ten different players got on the score sheet for the North Bay Battalion. It’s the most goals the Battalion has scored in any game this season, and it puts them over the .500 mark at 9-8-1-1.

Newcomer Vertiy had a second straight multi-point game in his second game with the Troops.

Vertiy said after the game he loves his new team after requesting a trade from Windsor.

The Troops win gives them four points over the weekend, while it’s also the fourth win of the season for Goaltender Jake Kment, who made 13 saves on the night.
