Ontario Northland is reporting the southbound Polar Bear Express passenger train derailed 24 miles south of Moosonee today (Wednesday).

Officials posted on Facebook that there were passengers and crew on board and there are no serious injuries.

The ONTC says they have initiated their emergency response plan and they’re arranging transportation for passengers to Cochrane or Moosonee.

They will continue to provide updates until service is restored.
