The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reporting 5 new forest fires in the North Bay district and they were all lightning caused.

This brings to 21 the number of forest fires this season.

The ministry says all the new ones are not yet under control.

The new forest fires are located near Highway 64 south of Temagami Provincial Park, not far from Lady Evelyn Smoothwater Provincial Park and a few kilometres from Temagami Island.

There are also 3 new fires in the Sudbury District.
