The future entrepreneurs of the area were showcased Wednesday at Staples in North Bay.

It was the annual Summer Company Trade Show an event put on by The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound.

Youth and Mentorship Coordinator Kennedy Horton says there’s wide gamut of businesses taking part in the program this year.

“Basketball camps, we have photography, we have some foot care, we have Milky Way a ice cream cart business that will be at the waterfront this summer,” she says.

She says the province funds up to $3,000 to students between the ages of 15-29 to start and run a business over the summer and this year 15 young people received funds.

One of the young business leaders is Steven Ouellette.

He says he’s learning a lot.

“Insurance, getting a business licence, how to design and create things, phoning people for price information and if I open a business in the future I will know what to do,” he says.
