The 42nd annual Mattawa River Canoe Race goes Saturday and the Conservation Authority says over 140 paddlers from five provinces have signed up.

There are canoe, kayak and stand up paddlers in 13 categories.

They will trace the historic route of the Voyageurs, including up to 12 portages from Olmsted Beach on Trout Lake to Mattawa Island Conservation Area, passing through Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park.
