The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says as of Friday night there were 45 active forest fires in the northeast.

21 of them are not under control.

There are 3 priority fires: The Lady Evelyn Cluster, Parry Sound 33 and The Pembroke Cluster.

The Lady Evelyn Cluster is over 27,000 hectares in size and the current fire activity is minimal thanks to rain on Friday.

Parry Sound 33 is over 11,000 hectares in size. The ministry says good progress is being made in fighting this fire but the fire remains active.

600 firefighters and support staff are currently working in Ontario.

They’re from across the country, the United States and Mexico.
