Local special olympians have returned home after a very successful national games in Nova Scotia.

in Athletics, Clarista Ardiel won two gold medals- in the long jump and was a member of the winning 4×4 relay team.

Mike Bailey (pictured) had plenty of hardware as well with a silver in the 400 and bronze medals for his performances in the 100 and 200 metres.

Nick Fung captured two medals-a silver in the 100 and 3rd in the 4 x 100 relay.

In Bocce, Jackelyn Osborne was 2nd in girls singles while Chris O’Connor was 4th in boys singles.

And in swimming, Jonothan Touw earned gold medals in the 50 metre and 25 metre freestyle races and was 2nd in the 50 metre backstroke.

His swimming teammate Sharon Kostyk placed 3rd in the 200 metre freestyle.
