The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are 41 active fires in the northeast and 6 of them are not under control.

That’s as of this morning.

As for the two major fires, the Lady Evelyn cluster fire is currently being held and North Bay fire 72 has not grown in size.

The Parry Sound fire has not grown either.

The ministry says some cottagers were able to return to their residences.

The restricted fire zone remains in place for North Bay, Mattawa, Powassan and Burks Falls.

The ministry says 365 firefighters and support staff are currently in the province from across the country, U.S. and Mexico helping out with personnel and equipment.
