A fundraiser for the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation’s Cancer Care Close to Home campaign will be held tomorrow.

RIde Around The Lake for Cancer’s Sake is a 250 kilometre trip around Lake Nipissing.

It starts at the hospital and ends at the Trout Creek Community Centre.

It’s organized by The Powassan Bikers Fest.

Spokesperson Mayor Peter McIssac says getting treatment at your home hospital is something less a cancer patient has to worry about.

“Not only an advantage for the person diagnosed for treatment but their family and friends as well. Just being able to be with that person at home while they’re getting care and being with their loves ones can really be beneficial to recovery,” he says.
After the ride is over there’s a spaghetti dinner and live music performed by Jake and the Fundamentals, Sepatown and Tequila Brother’s Revival.

Registration is $25 and dinner and music is $10.
