Just because classes are over for most students does not mean there’s no school.

140 students from grades 1-4 at 4 Near North District School Board sites are getting summer learning.

There are 7 power learning camps offered in North Bay, Burks Falls and McDougall.

5 of the camps are dedicated to reading and the other 2 to math.

The camps started in July 4th and wrap up on July 22nd.

The camps focus on reading, writing and math in small and group opportunities through engaging experiences.

Some of the activities include Brain Gym, nutritious snack preparation and recreation with literacy and math themes.

Parents are also taking part in the activities.

Meantime, Higher than average marks at St Joseph-Scollard Hall in the advanced placement french course.

Advancement placement enables students to pursue university level studies before they leave high school.

All of the students who were enrolled achieved a grade point level of 3 or higher. That is out of 5.

The school is looking at expanding the program to include biology next year.
