Anthony Rota

If Wednesday’s gathering at a town hall was any indication there seems to a lot of interest in the future of Canada Post.

So says MP Anthony Rota.

The Liberal government has undertaken a review of Canada Post and Rota says home mail delivery was a hot topic.

He says there was everything from sorting mail to Canada Post workers checking on seniors during their mail deliveries.

He says another one is Canada Post getting involved in the banking business in communities that don’t have banks but do have post offices.

He says there were also ideas for rural areas and major centres.

Rota says the information gathered will be passed on to a consulting company that will report to the government.
This was the 3rd straight week that Rota hosted a town hall on federal issues.

The others were on defense and climate change.
