The discovery of a dead dog in a tree Wednesday in the Seymour Street area has the North Bay and District Humane Society investigating.

Officials say the young dog, which appears to be a mixed breed, will be examined by a veterinarian and a necropsy will be completed to determine the cause of death.

The discovery was made by employees of an area business, with members of the public removing the dog from the tree.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Humane Society, city police or Crime Stoppers.
