We learned yesterday that Justin Brazeau is the new captain of the North Bay Battalion.

He says he’s honored.

Brazeau was asked about the style of leader he’s going to be.

“I won’t say too much unless I think something needs to be said. I’m not going to get in a guy’s face if I don’t need to, There are other guys on the team that lead that way. I’m going to lead my way on the ice but if I need to say something I will,” he says.

He says he’s got into his current position through hard work.

“There hasn’t too much pressure on me. Coming in as a late round pick I came in and worked hard and it’s worked out pretty well,” Brazeau says.

On the ice he has been a special player with 67 goals in the last 3 seasons including 61 goals in the last 2 campaigns. He was chosen in the 13th round in 2014 and is the franchise’s 15th captain.
