A well known local businessman has put his support behind Gary Gardiner, one of the mayoral candidates in the city.

John Cutsey is the CEO of FDM4 International. It’s a software company based on Airport Road.

He says the most important issue to him is growth and North Bay’s not growing.

“We’re spending but we’re not out growing anything. We need commercial entities. Our downtown could have great opportunities in spending but we need to attract commercial entities down there,” he says.

Cutsey is now listed as a 3rd party advertiser.

He says North Bay needs a change at city hall.

Cutsey says the city is going nowhere and voters shouldn’t be afraid to change. Infact, he says be afraid not to change.

Cutsey says he hires a lot of young people but it’s hard for them to stay here.

“Young people don’t want to stay in North Bay. They get educated at wonderful establishments like Canadore and Nipissing but they end up going somewhere else because there’s nothing here for the young kids,” he says.

Gardiner says Cutsey’s endorsement means a lot in the campaign.

“This is more conformation that business leaders believe in my campaign. This is huge for me,” Gardiner says.
