Canadore students got a chance on Friday to show what they’ve been working on.

Ryan Drouin is the manager of Canadore’s Centre for Career Development.

He says the purpose of the Applied Research and Entrepreneurship forum at the Commerce Court campus is to showcase the work of students but that’s not all.

“We also connect students to the community as well. Whether it’s business owners showcasing what we can do from an applied research perspective or whether it’s community members seeing the different projects Canadore students have worked on and seeing the capabilities for the future also,” he says.

Drouin says the student projects have been those they’ve worked on with industry partners in the community. As well, there are students who have started their own businesses through programs at the college. He says the forum also included presentations on applied research at the college.

He says it’s important the community is onboard and gets to see what students are capable of at Canadore College in regards to entrepreneurship.
