West Nipissing Police say they received a complaint from a local high school regarding weapons being displayed near the school on Thursday.

Upon investigation, police say there were people in a motor vehicle near the school and the firearms were displayed by one of the vehicle occupants.

Police say a vehicle stop ensued and 4 people were taken into custody.

Police located a a pellet rifle, an imitation handgun, several machetes and other edged weapons.

One male has been charged with possession of weapons dangerous to the public and one youth has been charged with intimidation.

West Nipissing Police have charged a 40 year old Sturgeon Falls woman with 15 counts of fraud over $5000, one count of fraud under $5000 and one count of breach of trust.

Police say over a period of several months an employee transferred large sums of money from a business account to a personal account.

West Nipissing Police say there was a 2nd complaint of suspicious pills being found in Halloween collection bags.

Police say they don’t believe the pills are narcotics or controlled substances.

Parents are asked to always check the candy that is collected to ensure every piece is safe and does not pose any risk to the child.
